Founded in 1976 by Shelby Peeples, Emerald Carpets marks 50 years of delivering flooring solutions tailored to the specialized demands of the trade show and special events industries. What began as a family-run business has grown into a trusted industry leader known for performance, service, and long-standing partnerships.
From the beginning, Emerald has worked closely with contractors and exhibit design professionals to develop carpet products engineered for durability and repeated use. Long before sustainability became an industry priority, the company’s focus on reuse and performance helped reduce waste while delivering long-term value to customers.
That leadership was reinforced in 2000 with the introduction of Matrix, the industry’s first aisle carpet to incorporate recycled content. Today, Matrix remains the most widely used and reused aisle carpet on the show floor, serving as a benchmark for both durability and environmental responsibility.
Continuing to push the industry forward, Emerald has introduced Infinity™, the first fully recyclable carpet designed specifically for show-floor environments. Built with a single polymer construction and containing post-consumer recycled content, Infinity™ can be returned and recycled into new carpet at the end of its lifecycle, supporting a circular approach to event flooring.
